about

Over the course of nearly three decades, Quinn S. has lead numerous bands as both primary songwriter and frontman in the Baltimore area. In late 2020, after a scrapped commercial score, Quinn began writing and recording a handful of songs that were unlike anything he had written before: songs that stood on their own without any lyrics. For the first time, he felt like everything he wanted to say musically laid in the notes from his guitar. In a matter of a few months, he had completed writing, recording, producing, mixing, and mastering what would become Seabreather's debut full-length album, La Marea, released in May 2021. The inspiration continued to flow and the sophomore album soon followed in September 2021, Off A Bow Echo.

In 2022, a third album was born out of an attempt to write a 20-minute song, resulting in the 14-minute “Together We Are the Sky (Act II)” that formed the foundation of the heavily orchestral-based Impermanence In Light, attracting a larger, international following with radio plays abroad in countries such as Australia and the Netherlands. The orchestral exploration continued, balanced with more of a rock direction on 2024’s How Quickly They Forget. Now, in 2026, Seabreather releases a fifth album, Under the Grace of Longing, centered around the 18-minute title-track that moves from gentle, evocative passages into frenetic, heavy passages crossing between the borders of post-rock, post-metal, and alternative rock.

Sometimes words just can't capture the feeling, but notes will always resonate. If anything, the hope is the music of Seabreather means whatever the listener hears in each song. It's the sound of someone finding hope and light in the unpredictably and darkness of life.
